📅Resellers
The Value Proposition of Resellers
If you can simply buy from the manufacturers, why use a reseller? There's actually a surprising number of reasons why buying from a reseller makes the most sense for almost every customer. Let's break this down and explain.
🌍 What is a Reseller?
Resellers are individuals who run businesses selling proxies purchased from BL or USea. They contact BL/USea directly and negotiate bulk pricing to import many cards into their local country. These individuals have their own unique business practices, shipping costs, and websites.
Pros and Cons of Using Resellers
Pros
Resellers filter card shipments to remove any misprints, miscuts, bad holo stamps, or otherwise poor quality stock from their shipments. Think of this as an extra layer of eyes on the cards to be sure you get the highest quality possible.
Resellers are local. You can find resellers in your country who can ship you the cards very quickly. Typically the shipping is fast, cheap, and insured.
Resellers offer native support. While typically the Chinese manufacturers speak good enough English to converse, it's much easier to resolve problems with someone who speaks your regional language and understands the game.
Resellers typically play the game. This means they know what to look for in terms of sourcing the absolute best quality cards, and have educated opinions on what makes the best quality proxy.
Cons
Price. The only real con to buying from a reseller is that they charge more per card. This is due to their costs of upkeep on the website, time taken to filter cards, organize incoming shipments, and prepare orders, as well as time used to research which versions may be best.
The average price of small orders through a reseller may be 10-20% more expensive than a small order directly from a manufacturer. Larger orders (<$400-$1000) may see a significant savings going directly though the manufacturers, but at a cost of some stock being bad.
