Proxy Magic Cards

Proxy Magic the Gathering cards are designed to "stand in" for the real card, but typically do not pass as the real card upon a visual inspection by an opponent or judge. This may be due to a variety of reasons:

  • The card back is not the standard MTG card back.

  • The artwork is not Magic: The Gathering artwork. (Could be your favorite anime, superhero, or TV show, etc.)

  • The card lacks copyright information, or other details that are prohibited by most printing shops due to copyright laws.

These cards are typically great for casual, proxy-friendly environments that don't mind cards that appear fake even from a far glance.
