# Bootleg Magic Cards

Bootleg MTG Cards serve one singular purpose: **To make playing the game more accessible and affordable.**\
\
**Bootleg MTG Cards look, feel, and smell like the real deal.** They are designed to be used in sleeves during FNM or Tournament. They stand up to visual checks by your opponents and judges.\
\
Bootleg MTG Cards are defined by the following:

* The cardstock, weight, and feel is comparable to the authentic cards.
* The artwork used is the official Wizards of the Coast artwork.
* The front of the card is identical to an official Wizards-printed card both in content and coloration (within variance.)

Most notably, these cards do not pass counterfeit checks performed by vendors buying or selling MTG cards. These tests typically employ magnification or other methods not visible to the naked eye (especially not visible during play). See [Counterfeit Magic Cards](https://docs.bootlegmtg.com/the-basics-start-here/counterfeit-magic-cards)\
\
For all ethical use cases, Bootleg Magic Cards are ideal if your goal is to simply play with the cards without others knowing the card is a proxy.
