🤝Black Lotus (BL)

While there are many sellers in China, Black Lotus is the collective name for a printing group that all utilize the same factory to print cards. They share printing files, resources, and collectively bargain with the printing factory for better rates. Chinese sellers of these cards may include:

  • Black Lotus (BL, or Jason Lung)

  • Ron Liu (Ron)

  • Villa Zheng (VZ)

  • Gail Cao (Gail)

  • Proxyking (PK) *

Note: PK has no website. Any websites claiming to be PK are fake or scams. This name is commonly used to mislead others.

Pros and Cons Black Lotus MTG Proxies

Pros

  • Average Quality is High. More often than not, the cards you receive are good enough for FNM.

  • Great Selection of cards. BL has the largest inventory.

  • Great Customer Service. If there are issues, they typically get resolved without much push back.

Cons

  • Many print runs have inconsistent quality. Sometimes you may be sent older, inferior stock that is very poor quality. Or, the older stock is better, but newer stock is sent.

  • While the selection is huge, there is large variance among quality, especially for less popular cards.

  • Low tolerance for quality control. There are mistakes on cards that takes a careful eye to spot, and are sold anyway. Holo Stamps may be damaged or badly misaligned.

  • Can only buy using an excel spreadsheet and email, which while functional, can be inconvenient.

  • Prices tend to be the same (or more) for small orders when compared to local resellers with better quality controls such as Bootleg Mage.
